CHEX is a Chilean engineering company based in Valparaíso, Chile, developing innovative and sustainable solutions for the energy transition. The company was founded to transform advanced research and engineering expertise into technologies capable of addressing real-world challenges in the energy sector.
Our first innovation, Compressed Hydro Energy Storage (CHEX Energy Storage), is a patented renewable energy storage technology developed in Chile. Inspired by the concept of a virtual dam, the system stores energy using compressed gas and water, providing a sustainable alternative for long-duration energy storage without the use of harmful chemicals.

Our Origins
CHEX Energy Storage was developed by a team of physicists and engineers from the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (USM) and the Centro Científico Tecnológico de Valparaíso (CCTVal), led by Dr. Christian Romero.
The company was created with the support of private investor Laurentzi De Sasia Rodríguez, who joined as Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, while Dr. Romero serves as Chief Executive Officer. Together, they combine scientific expertise, engineering innovation, and commercial vision to bring this technology from research to real-world applications.
